Spring Crafting!

Sunday Spring craft day! I’ve been watching Oscar footage all day but in between I’ve been de-wintering the house and putting some Spring together!

New wreath! Still undecided about the bow. Steve claims it’s more of a summer wreath but likes the simplicity of it.

I wanted to do pastel felt rosettes but this came together instead. It does seem more like a summer wreath. Wreaths are really challenging!

Obviously super into bunting!

Yay Spring!

This was a swap I sent to Australia. Pictures are credited to the lovely Oodelally of craftster.org. He made it safe and sound to his new owner!

The pattern can be found at thelongthread.com!

Cupcakes galore!

This was the package that I sent for the cupcake swap. My partner was into 70’s vintage fabrics and colors and expressed needing a wrist pincushion. Ask and you shall receive!

He’s a big one!

Naked tote!

I was inspired to make this little guy when I found this pattern… http://blog.revoluzzza.com/2009/04/06/lets-sew-a-revoluzzzionary-easter-bunny/ online. I actually used the pattern that was meant for a paper cut-out so his ears are more pointy and he’s thinner. I put wire in his ear so it could bend. And he’s now my new sewing buddy!

Craftster Fox Swap!

I recently finished my first swap on craftster.org

The theme was foxes and my partner is an English and Education major. So this is what I crafted…

Ms. Fox Wall Hanging:

All together now!

Stoked! She said it was the best swap receive ever. I loved making this stuff. I’m most proud of the tiny cut outs I did for the bookmark.

Fabric Dollhouse/Sewing Box

This was a massive project. I saw this little fabric dollhouse online years ago. And then I found the same pattern in my One Yard Wonders sewing book. Finally I felt inspired to tackle the project. I increased the size of the original pattern so I could use it for sewing notions and such. Thinking ahead- it would make a great playhouse for a small child one day…

I made some accessories that could be used logically for sewing and also doll.. housing

Needle rug:

The pincushion could be used as a couch..

Or a bed!

And the needle book could be a rug or a blanket!

Target Basket Redo!

So! Target put out their new line of easter/spring stuff and with it came a really cute aqua basket (for which I was needing to collect my fabric scraps) but I wasn’t so excited by the generic floral embroidery and white fabric basket liner.

A couple weekends ago I found this AMAZING vintage floral cordoroy fabric with my sister at this hole in the wall antique store in Providence, RI, which soon became perfect for the redo…

More red, pink, and aqua? It’ll never get old.

I almost didn’t bother with the redo. I’ve never attempted to make something like this and it seemed too complicated. I put a lot of guesswork into how to construct it but I’m glad I tackled it because I’m happy with how it looks now.

Crafty Corner

I had some unused wall space in my craft room and decided that before I made anything else with my Heather Ross garden gnomes I would properly worship the fabric by framing it. I think it looks super cute and putting the money into the frames and nice mat board was so worth it.

I also finished up my next mini quilt. Aqua, red, and pink were made for each other.

I really love this little sucker

I threw this guy together some bored night ago. He’s a little wonky but served the purpose of having a project to do and finish in one night.

He lives on top of the guest bed… oversees guests.

Babushka’s Sewing Machine Cover

I think my craft room is starting to show a theme.

I’ve been really into this fabric lately. Every since I got this great fat quarter fabric bundle from fabricworm.com I’ve been using this fabric for everything

Craft/sewing table in my craft room… thanks to Ikea.

The front panel is a pocket.. for no reason at all really cause I won’t use it as one. I followed a pattern from One-Yard Wonders. My original sewing machine cover was boring so with the inspiration of this fabric I whipped one up!
